Rogue One questions

I've only had a partial look but interesting to note how much was never supposed to be in the film (Jyn vs Tie fighter) and how that iconic shot of Jyn in the tunnel came about.

Yeah, that is cool. I'm making my way through the 'Interviews & Articles' section and there are some interesting nuggets in there, too.

It is a pity we haven't seen the whole 'going from the Scarif main base across the beach to the separate transmission tower' scenes. Seems a lot of work went into them - and would make a welcome featurette up on ILM's youtube channel or similar...

'I think the main thing that changed at the end...what used to happen, and you can get a sense of this in the early trailers, the transmission tower for the plans was separate from the main base on Scarif. To transmit the plans, they had to escape and run along the beach and go up the tower. In cutting the film, it just felt too long. We had to find ways to compress the third act, which was quite long as it was. And one real, fast, brutal solution was to put the tower in the base, so they don't have to run across the beach and do all of that stuff to get there. That became a decision that eliminated the shots you see in the trailer of the back of Cassian and Jyn and the AT-ATs. That was some of the reinvention that happened. It was all to do with compression.' - Gareth Edwards

Even more of the quieter character moments would be cool to see...

The DICE Battlefront 1 Rogue One DLC had a game mode where you had the deliver the Death Star plans to I believe the landing pad. Probably inspired by the cut scenes from the movie, or the trailers.

That's a great shout - I'll suggest it as an addition to the video links - thanks mate. :techman:
