Rocko's DS9 Trailer 2.0

2.0 was cool, but the orignal trailer rocked pretty damn hard. I just got a buddy willing to give the show a try with it.

I find the second one better in my opinion. The Dances With Wolves music in the first one gets rather repetitive, while the use of ST6 music in the second evolves, it helps tell the story along with the visuals. I find the second one a more engaging viewing experience and to be far superior!

I am still enjoying the original trailer... And Rocko, I may be getting "The Best of Babylon 5" soundtrack.

God damn it this good. You should be arrested :D. I love it. I am going to show it to my family. Even though they all hate star trek. I think i can change their mind.

The one thing i don't like is the human frailty thing. It's just me. I hate it when humans are risen above other species in Sci Fi (e.g. Enterprise especially season 3 and 4 and Babylon 5).

I like my humans to be equal to other aliens.

I've shown both trailers to a bunch of people and everyone likes it. Even non Star Trek fans.

Love all the trailers, best part is when the Majestic is destroeyd and the Dragonheart music comes on...reminds me why I love DS9.

And no fear in discussing topics like faith versus religion.
I like the discussion between Weyoun and Damar. And Damar has this "oh, boy" expression on his face.

Alrighty, the rehauled trailer is finally done. This is not meant to be a replacement for the original mind you (cause I'm not sure this new version is an improvement, heh), just an alternative, shorter, faster one that might be more appealing to newbies. The two biggest changes are the deletion of about half the footage, including that entire beginning section with the B5 music & Quark's funky laugh, and the replacement of Dances w/Wolves & Dragonheart with the End Credits from ST6 (jived better with the quicker pace-stuff). I dunno if it worked though. While this is probably technically better than the original, I don't see it moving anyone to tears and such.

Here's the link to the downloadable high-res file on RapidShare:

More links to YouTube and such will come soon.

Like I posted in the other thread, I can't get it onto Google Video because their screeners are being evil and rejecting it due to copyright violation. (though somehow the original was fine in that department, not sure why)

And here are all the links to the original 4 minute trailer again, for any who still haven't seen it:

Vash, I guess you can unpin the old thread and replace it with this one, yay! Thanks for watching all. Oh, and there's not gonna be a Trailer 3.0, I have to delete all the files for it, they're eating my poor laptop's harddrive alive. :p And thanks to dan_of_Earth for the "The only weapon for which it has no defense" text stuff. :)

I am a pro film editor/major and I am rarely impressed with side work trailers, but let me assure you your original version rocked! I was so impressed with it, it really made DS9 stand out. I love some of your musical ques! You picked some good dialogue as well, I've shown some ds9 fans at work and they loved it too! Great work! :)
