Harmony Gold has been saying "it's happening" for years and nothing. Harmony Gold has been saying a lot of things for years that didn't happen.
Fact: HG still doesn't have the rights to do anything more with Rick, Lisa, Max, Skull Squadron, the SDF-1, et al. I doubt they ever will, thanks to the utterly crappy way they snaked Tatsunko (sp?) on the international distribution rights.
Whatever might come out of this (again, not holding my breath), it won't be the Robotech the fans have been begging for for forever now.
Fact: It's Sony. They can't figure out how to make consistent bank on Spider-Man, arguably one of the most popular and recognizable characters ever. They're gonna take on a far less name-recognized property like this?
Guess they're hunting for their Star Wars franchise. Good luck with that.
Mind you, I'd love to see it happen, if the rights could be secured and if it were done correctly. But I'm being realistic here. It won't happen, and if it does, chances are it will suck royally.
