Robot Chicken: Star Trek Experience

It was funny, but a little ill-timed. I was at STTE for the final two days. I'm still a little tender, emotionally, about the loss of that wonderful place. Two weeks ago or two weeks from now it'd probably have put me on the floor.

That said, I've kind of gotten the feeling that RC is running out of steam lately. It's not as fall-on-the-floor, rewind the DVR, "come quick you've got to see this" funny as it used to be.

Yeah, that was unfortunate. Like most animated TV series, Robot Chicken has a LONG production lead time. Obviously this episode was written and animated months before the closure of ST:TE was announced.

That's OK though... the parody was a gut-buster and brought back fond memories of my own two visits.

Nah, I think it was perfectly timed. It was just a bit flat though, funny at points, but just not a really memorable one.

I'm still amazed that people find this show funny. The supposed jokes are lame and obvious.

I saw it - I thought it was pretty funny, although I agree that it would have been better had it been aired a few weeks earlier. Seems a little weird showing it only after the place is gone.

Aren't they planning on doing a Star Trek special episode like the Star Wars one?...that would be cool..there's so much material to parody.:techman:

Alas, those of us outside the US aren't allowed to view that. :(

It's funny though, last time we were at the Experience, there was a wedding going on in the Captains' Lounge, and it was all Robot Chicken cast and crew. Seth Green was actually wandering around the place. Surprised the heck outta me.

I wish it had come out earlier, rather than being a bittersweet post mortem it could have been a nice send off, or a nice thing to get some publicity for a campaign to keep the Experience open. Oh well.

On the plus side - apparently that giant probe the Borg is using there ("its straight out of my fan-fic") WILL make it into the kiddies section of the new Michael Jackson experience...

Interested to see that... will have to wait until I get home though. This stupid computer lab doesn't even have sound through headphones.
