Plus he's 72 years old. (73 by the time they start shooting, if they ever do.) So I don't think strapping him into a tin can would be the best idea...
Really, all you need is the voice. You can CGI pretty much everything else if the budget is there.

My enthusiasm for this dropped considerably after Neill Blomkamp left the project.
Yes, but that's become his "thing" sadly.Has he done anything other than plan sequels that erase prior sequels and then not do them?
Robocop is pretty popular with older nerds, but I think Charlie's Angels is a lot more mainstream. Most people would know pretty quickly what you're talking made a Charlie's Angels reference, but most non-nerd would probably be totally clueless if you did the same thing for Robocop.Eh, I don't think Charlie's Angels is more popular then Robocop (How many people that weren't alive in the 70s give a crap about the show, and how many people in general care about those Cameron Diaz movies? I'm betting not that many people).

If they are going to do that then they might as well adapt Deus Ex: Human Revolution.Well, if they done Robocop in a, here's the first man to undergo total body prothesis.. and his trials and tribulations with a cop background.. then maybe.
Hell, They don't even need the cop for that story.. Have a world that cyborg body prothisis is a normal thing, many look to upgrade to a new arm, leg etc, but nobody had done a complete fully synthitic body ( except the brain of course) and tell the story of an accident survivor, maybe in this instence with robo cop, a cop that is shreded by some accident or hit job, and do a total body replacement. Kind of how the 2014 one done. .but with out the horrible script..
Remaking ROBOCOP was almost as insanely dumb as remaking ALIEN......which no doubt will happen after Ridley Scott dies. Give that one to Michael Bay or Betty Thomas.
They've rebooted it twice on TV, yes.Didn't they already reboot this just a few years ago...?
And it failed then.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you, Charlie's Angels is one of the big classic's of '70s TV. Even if a lot of people haven't seen the actual show, it's still gonna have a lot more name recognition for the non-nerds than Robocop.I mean, I'll grant you that Robocop is a more nerdy thing, but I don't think Charlie's Angels would be all that recognizable to a general audience. People who are 18 right now weren't even alive when the first Cameron Diaz CA film came out, and I was 10 and definitely not watching movies like that. The second of those movies came out in 2003, 16 years ago. The TV show is even older, and it wasn't exactly classic TV. I think general audience people would probably recognize Robocop more, even just based off its last reboot, then would recognize Charlie's Angels. It has the benefit of having a reboot more recently, and its a more memorable premise in my opinion.

Don't tease me like that. The Starship Troopers sequels were utter garbage.Blomkamp will now move onto "Starship Toopers Redux," which will be a direct sequel to the original film, ignoring the other sequels. But then he'll drop out.
Is the original Robocop really all that important to the cultural landscape anymore? If you said “I’ll buy that for a dollar!” will many people know what you’re talking about?
Robocop > Charlie's Angels
It had a much bigger lasting impact.
