Roberto Orci Not Directing Trek XIII

Opinions noted... BUT I prefer reading one-liners; to bloated, quoting, paragraphs...

...and egotistical "signatures" ;-) Why not keep i clean? I'll bet others would agree ;-)

Good for you.

It's no big deal - in a few days we'll know who's right and who was too eager to believe anonymous rumors. You stick around for that, okay?

Well, whatever you do stay out of the forum we call The Neutral Zone. People can say pretty much whatever they like in there; you probably would not find it congenial.

The Neutral Zone you say... hmmm... i'll have to check it out sometime...

if u know me, u know i can be "frank" at times... ;-)

Para/Devin's "accuracy..."

The script was a rip-off of "Planet of the Titans" and production was shut down in August, despite the fact that scouting and pre-production were obviously going on in September. Shatner even met with Orci in early October reportedly.

Then... the script was rejected because it was a time-travel film. Orci has stated that time travel was never considered.

Then.. Orci *quit* because Paramount wanted it to be like "Guardians of the Galaxy."

I saw the other day where Para has posted on a "writer's forum" that Bad Robot has sued Paramount over a breach of contract.

The problem being that some of this stuff spread like wildfire, so you have gullible people who don't think about these things logically and are too desperate for any kind of bad news to be true.

...it DOES stir up interest! ...makes ME want to know more! =P

but i'll be surprised if it ends up benefiting BR / nu-trek...

Funny thing about GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. The character of Peter Quill felt very reminiscent of Kirk in nuTrek. It then made me realize how much easier it will for Marvel to utilize Peter Quill, in comparison to Bad Robot using nuKirk. Peter Quill has the advantage of being a rogue that never has to learn how to take command of a starship and follow the rules. He's free from all that, so he can remain very appealing to audiences that like seeing that kind of rogue character. nuKirk's arc has been about learning how to follow the roles and the responsibilities that come with the captain's chair. This would bring him closer to Shatner's Kirk, but people love GOTG and the Peter Quill character, so if they try to apply more of that to Kirk, he'll have lost his growth in the two films and seem like he never learned anything.

It must be very challenging for anyone working on this Trek film, trying to follow up on what the other two promised, but then the studio heads tell you its wiser to go on a reverse course to make it more appealing like another space opera franchise. Granted, that's mostly my assumption of what's going on, but I wouldn't be surprised if something like that was occurring.

And don't forget, before Orci Quit he was fired, and also, Paramount is suing Abrams for pocketing $150M of the $200M budget for the last film. Oh, and CBS is trying to convince Paramount not to make the third movie, so, they (CBS) can cash in on reviving Enterprise.

Really?! Wow, some of these rumors are hilariously shallow!
I mean, I liked the show, but reviving Enterprise is the pipiest pipe dream that ever piped!

yeah, no, forget about Enterprise... =P

although: would be nice to get some closure... =(

think: AXANAR!! =D

(and maybe, Captain Worf?) ;-)
