Hmmm... this could be interesting if they find a plausible way to include him in the film. I always thought he was great as the T-1000. The fact that he's obviously aged since T2 might also be a cause for concern, but it appears McG has taken that into account and would have Patrick play the human model for the T-1000, at least initially.
I think I'll wait and see if Salvation is any good before I decide whether or not this is something to look forward to.

On the Los Angeles press junket for "Alien Trespass", Monday, March 30, the man who played shape-shifter T-1000 in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" said, "Yeah, he talked to me about it."
"I'm interested," the 50-year-old furthermore shared his thought on the possibility. "I was listening to him tell me about it. I had no idea that he thought about that. ... It's what broke me out big to the world."
On the occasion, he also shared his belief that McG will be able to deliver the fourth "Terminator" movie. "And I certainly can't think of anybody to tackle T4 other than him right now. I think ' got the energy for it and the passion for it. I know he's a fan of the movies," he said. "I think he'll do a fantastic job."
