Damn. I do miss Atlantis! Now that was a fun show! Flawed, but fun.

Spot on, I totally agree with both quotes. Atlantis was fun to watch, SGU is a tedious bore, with a horribly unlikeable cast of characters. Get rid of them all and replace them with interesting likeable characters please.

Why the District 9 comparison?

Probably because Image Engine, the VFX company that provided the bulk of the effects work for District 9, has been a long-time supplier of creature effects for the Stargate franchise. If they continue in that role for SGU, with the bigger budget of the new series and with what they've proved with D9 thy can deliver, I hope we'll see something truly great.

I can't wait to see what's to come. I'm enjoying the ride so far. I still want to see more on ship relationships. I hope they focus on those a lot more. Definitely can't wait to see more on Greer. He intrigues me and of course the rush/young situation.

I'm optimistic about the potential for D9 level aliens being on SGU. The D9 approach would work well on this show, more than trying to create aliens like the Goa'uld or Wraith. Something that feels more 'alien' than that would be nice to see.
