Spoilers Rob Zombie's Munsters Remake

Well, that trailer was certainly...something. I'll give it props for being something quite different from the norm to the degree it might just work.

I probably won't see it in theaters but it's worth watching if only for Sylvester McCoy.

That looks pretty cheesy, but in a fun, silly way. Not sure if I'll pay to see it in theatres, but I'd probably check it out if it comes to one of the streaming services I subscribe too.

Yeah, I have to admit, I'm a little surprised at how cheap this looks. I was expecting it to a fairly big budget, high quality release, but in terms of production values this doesn't look much better than something we'd get from The Asylum.

I'm not the biggest Munsters fan, but I do remember watching reruns of the show as a kid. I found myself actually smiling during the trailer. The Munsters TV show was unabashedly campy and cheesy, and this movie seems to be in the same spirit of that.

From what I understand, Rob Zombie wanted the movie to be as faithful to the TV show as possible and even originally wished to film it in black & white, but knew the studio wouldn't let him do that.

That was a weird trailer. I don't think that purposefully going super cheap looking is actually going to help the movie, it will probably hurt it a good deal. But I was always an Addams Family person myself, so maybe intentionally garbage looking is what Munster fans want, although I doubt it. It will also probably be a big barrier towards attracting people not familiar with the property, which at this point the movie probably needs to be really successful (although it looks so cheap it might not actually need to make that much money).

I hadn't been aware, but IMDB now lists Butch Patrick & Pat Priest (Marilyn #2) as being in this movie.

Even if they're just cameos, a nice nod to the classic.

Cassandra Peterson I knew about.

I'm not trying to be snarky--and I'm not directing this to any particular poster--but people have said that the movie looks cheap. To me, it seems to be what the TV series would have been with a bigger budget.

The original series never looked cheap; with all of Universal's production talent (including Bud Westmore's make up department), backlot and two among the most iconic TV/movie cars ever put before cameras, it was a top level series.

That said, with this Zombie film's estimated budget, it should not appear cheap at all.

The "cheapness" to me is in large part due to looking like it was shot on video for some reason. I would sincerely hope the final sound mix is not this terrible.
