Rise Like Lions: Reactions?

I got my copy today, am reading it though not yet finished. I quite like what I see so far!

Looks like this one's going to be popular - I've had difficulty buying online. I might have to wait until it hits the shops over here.

I am super-excited about this one. I'm still working my way through the Voyager/TNG/Titan relaunch series towards Destiny but this will be a nice break for me.

I still haven't read Vanguard: What Judgments Come yet either. Maybe I'll take a break after I finish my current break and read these two.

Man! Vanguard and Mirror Universe. What a combination.

Indeed. I pre-order mind on amazon.co.uk about 2 months ago and I just got notification that it was now unavoidable (unless I wanted to spend over £24 on ordering a copy from somewhere in Florida apparently).
This is despite the fact that the book was going to be released in February 2012. Most odd...

I'm sure that it'll be worth the wait:)

Nice to see positive reactions to this one. I just won't be reading it. Nothing against the book, its just i've never cared about the mirror/myriad universe series. I have never been interested in "what if" stories.

I don't know if I'd call them "what if"s though. They do continue threads specifically introduced during the series, so they're more like a Mirror Universe relaunch than "what if"s.

I went to Barnes&Noble they didn't have this book yet.I can't wait to see how this book wraps up David's Mirror universe story.

I'm pretty pumped to read this one. Especially after how incredible David's "The Sorrows Of Empire" was.

He's probably one of the best authors in Trek nowadays.

^Exactly. It's what's been going on in the Mirror Universe since the last we saw of it on screen.

Besides, it's some of the best storytelling in Trek in the last few years.

wait, is this one specifically tied in with the mirror universe? and not the myriad universe? Because I LOVED Sorrows of Empire.

Yeah, it ties up the Memory Omega story introduced in that book. There is not Myriad Universe, MryU is a series of standalone stories, with each one set in it's own unique alternate universe. Mirror Universe is an ongoing series where all of the stories are set in the Mirror Universe we saw in TOS, DS9, and ENT, and continues the stories introduced in those shows.

And it's Myriad Universes, plural. "Myriad" means "uncountably many," so it's always plural. That's the idea, that each one is a different universe.

Amazon UK don't list Rise Like Lions as being available as a paperback; just the Kindle Edition.
