Sad news. He did such dominant, high-quality work in the '80s. Altered States, Body Heat, The Big Chill, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Children of a Lesser God, Broadcast News, The Accidental Tourist... So great at bringing a touch of odd humor to any role.

The last thing I'd seen him in was The Last Full Measure ( great movie btw) , in which he co-stars with Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Plummer, Peter Fonda, and Ed Harris. That makes three of these older actors that have appeared in this movie that have recently passed away.
