RIP Tom Bosley

Tom Bosley has passed away.

Best known as Howard Cunningham on Happy Days and the voice of the Canadian animated The World of David the Gnome, as well as The Father Dowling Mysteries that used to run on ABC.

I grew up watching reruns of both "David" and "Happy Days" on Nickelodeon and Nick-at-Nite and there was just something very comforting about his very distinctive voice, and as kids we used to always join David and Lisa at the end of each episode, shouting out "Schlitweitz!" with them.

Schlitweitz, Tom, and rest in peace.

He was great on stage, too, winning a Tony for the musical Fiorello!. RIP.

A few actors create memorable characters that actually affect the people who view their performance.
Tom Bosley was one of those actors.
I grew up watching Happy Days. It was always there, it seemed, ending the same year I graduated high school. I haven't watched re-runs because I've never forgotten the show. Tom Bosley had a lot to do with that.

Though Bosley will always be remembered for his role on Happy Days he was also the star of the ground breaking animated series Wait Till Your Father Gets Home which can be regarded as the forerunner of The Simpsons,Family Guy,South Park and all other adult theme animated shows.
