RIP - Ray Harryhausen

A true artist and a kind and gentle man. May his films inspire generations to come.

Definitely a legend, though I'm not sure how the younger generation views him. I'm sure they can appreciate his accomplishments but I don't know if they've been moved by them, hopefully so. I don't think I ever saw his films in the theater but they were TV staples when I was younger and I thrilled to them on weekends.

My concern as well. I'm not requiring under age 30 to be a special effects historian, but I really do hope that they know his name and appreciate today's wizards have stood on Harryhausen's shoulders.

I believe his movies are great enough to be loved by any age, even those who grow up with CGI. Nothing can beat the magic of capturing one of his films on TV, not knowing what to expect and loving every second of it. Just thinking of 'Clash of the Titans', how much more I enjoyed the original because there seemed to be something far more real and genuine about it as if it were a piece of recorded history itself.
