Yeah, that's crazy.
I'm sorry for bring in real world politics into this, but I was thinking earlier how I couldn't believe some like Pharazon could knowingly work with Sauron knowing who he is, but then I remember what's going on in the real world right now, and suddenly it didn't seem so unbelievable.
I seem to recall reading right when the show was first announced that Amazon was contractually obligated to produce all five seasons regardless of ratings or the success of the show.
Yeah, I remember that, too, but this is the first time we've seen anything about an exact penalty Amazon would have to pay the Tolkien estate if they canceled.
Even though I don't buy that report, there is a crucial difference between The Rings of Power and The Wheel of Time: with the latter, Amazon was only the distributor and a co-producer, whereas with the former, they're both the primary producer and the distributor.
Hope they do all of the seasons as they were planning. A few months ago I went back to the show and watched all of season 1 and 2. Glad I did.
Decided on listening to the audiobooks that done with Andy Serkis. Almost finished The Two Towers. I can wait to start "Return of the King", tomorrow at some stage.
