Riker Infomercial - Wow...

I don't see anything wrong with it. If I owned that company and I saw the commercial, you better believe I'd buy the software. :D

-J.

This infomercial is nothing!

In the 1980's, Frakes appeared in a Christian fundie drama about dealing with loss, that was about a half hour long. In it, he's a guy who falls in love, then loses, a girlfriend in an accident. With the belief in God, he overcomes his grief, so to speak.

I can't believe Paramount let them film that. You know they made a buck off of it. What computer program back in those days could afford such? I mean, maybe now days Microsoft of Mac could afford something like that but... *shakes head*

Quick some one call Boole and Babbage and see if they are still around. 408-524-4208 :guffaw: Riker didn't seem out of place, but that office guy sure did. I wonder who engaged warp... no one else but him and the office guy were there both sitting in the captain's and first officer chairs. He didn't say "computer".

It would also appear that at about 4:28 Riker was in time loop...

That was the oddest informercial I have ever seen.

This is like that commercial where that guy from Back to the Future is trying to sell something. These guys are all sellouts. But good at acting. So I guess it's ok.

It was kind of interesting to see them use Windows on the Enterprise computer.

And who did steer the ship?

Ack! I can't watch until I get home. At work, WebSense blocks everything from youtube and most public storage areas, like photobucket.

I usually can't see pictures and avatars on the BBS while at work.

well tbh, shouldn't you be working at work?

I thought it was pretty cool, just the script tightening up in places.
Loved the 90s cliches eg "company needs people like who with vision" bwahahaha.

That was one expensive ad for a computer program

I was going to make a new post about this, good thing I searched first.

Best line: "No Harold, it's Commander Riker from the Federation starship Enterprise. You didn't return my call..."
Frakes has a little smirk on his face when he says it.

I can't believe they actually made this commercial. Must have cost big bucks.

So do you think maybe this infomercial was also set during "The Pegasus": when Riker wasn't worrying about Pressman and dodgy Holodeck programs, he was giving out advice to cheesy salesmen in the past? ;)

 I like that idea!
