Riker Infomercial - Wow...

Seen it. Quite lame, but an interesting advertising gimmick. Kinda reminds me of the video we watched in 8th grade that advertised the Math-A-Thon challenge... It was sponsored by Nintendo and they had a guy in a Mario mascot suit. Quite cheesy, but I was happy to see Nintendo was involved, even if it wasn't recent (the system used in the skit was an NES.)

Ack! I can't watch until I get home. At work, WebSense blocks everything from youtube and most public storage areas, like photobucket.

I usually can't see pictures and avatars on the BBS while at work.

Lucky you. When my highschool used WebSense, it blocked the BBS too. It's evil software.

Not only did that commercial confuse me and make me glad I don't work in some crazy data-management system but also stunned me that Paramount would allow it.

But, let me get this straight...

Riker wanted to give this guy's business' control to Skynet?

The copyright notice at the end gives a date of 1993 for this thing. So do you think maybe this infomercial was also set during "The Pegasus": when Riker wasn't worrying about Pressman and dodgy Holodeck programs, he was giving out advice to cheesy salesmen in the past? ;)

Yeah, I noticed the Win 3.11 GUI. (It would be 3.11 because that's what was used for networking. :D )

I, personally, loved it, and must say that it similarly mirrors one of my hopes that someday, the Enterprise will beam me up while I'm at work. :D
