radicalization and intolerance of both Left
Got an example for the radical left? I'd love to know which policy idea you consider radical leftism.

You do realize that neo-con literally means neo-conservative right?
I do. However, neo-conservatism stands for regulated capitalism with an emphasis on global security.
Undoubtedly, Nazi Germany was a socialist state for its time.
FDR also introduced a substantial amount of socialist policies himself, just not to the same extent. Socialists in the beginning of the 20th century stood for basic workers rights that today exist in virtually every country in the world and from a modern perspective wouldn't be classified as such.
However, neo-conservatism stands for regulated capitalism with an emphasis on global security. The conservative values mean nothing to me.
Actually Neoconservatism (commonly shortened to neocon) is a political movement born in the United States during the 1960s among conservative-leaning Democrats who became disenchanted with the party's foreign policy. The term "neoconservative" refers to those who made the ideological journey from the anti-Stalinist Left to the camp of American conservatism. Neoconservatives typically advocate the promotion of democracy and American national interest in international affairs, including by means of military force and are known for espousing disdain for communism and for political radicalism.

The problem with socialism in the modern world is that its fundamentally immoral. The government gets to take the money I've worked hard for and gives it to someone else. In any other context, someone taking money/property from one person is called stealing.
Attaching a label to something does not make it so and manipulating that fallacy is common in propaganda circles. Dictatorships are commonly called things like "the freedom party" precisely because of the cognitive dissonance that caused and the very real chance people will be influenced by the name as much as the reality.
Democratic People's Republic of Korea... aka North Korea. I guess we must now work under the assumption that North Korea is a democracy.![]()
Well it belongs to one particular set of people....And belongs to the people....

I can see the why the Star Trek universe requires a WW3 with the whole system collapsing and an alien 'invasion' for things to drastically improve lol
Humanity learns you can hang together or you can hang separately or you can be blasted to rubble by little green men...take your pick.
Which is why in the Star Trek universe the Vulcans made all the difference as per the First Contact movie. Fictional Earth got a wake up call. Real Earth would shoot first and try and retro fit the tech.I don't think we can save ourselves. I think it will take intervention from a more advanced power.

More it wasn't ANY kind of socialism, no more than my German Shepherd is either german or a shepherd.
