Ridley Scott's "Forever War" in 3D?

Apparently Ridley was so impressed with the process on Cameron's "Avatar" he's going to use it for the movie version of Haldeman's "Forever War". What I am MORE impressed with is that he is working on an SF film again along with Cameron!:techman:

Interesting... It's nice to know this project is going forward -- I hadn't heard much about it in awhile. Do you have a link to wherever you got this from?

I do hope they remain reasonably faithful to the book, which is about the difficulties Mandella experiences adjusting to life after time dilation as much as it is about the actual war. I also hope that they don't shy away from the novel's interesting depictions of sexuality.

I'm optimistic, though, with Ridley directing. Sure, he's not infallible, but his involvement fills me with more confidence than, oh, I don't know... the idea of Roland Emmerich directing a Foundation movie, for starters. ;)

Absolutely! William needs to be constantly struggling to catch up to the changes in human society. I really pray that Ridley Scott fights for the message and doesn't allow the studio to soften the way it's presented.

I didn't even know they were making this one, could be good! I don't care whether it's in 3-D or not though.
