Rick Berman and Abram's trek

Does anyone know if there is a site that has the views and opinions of Rick berman about Abram's Star Trek?

I'd really like to know how he felt about the way it changed.

Thanks

As far as I know, there has been nothing online to suggest that he has seen it or not. Chances are, like many of the other people involved with past Trek, is that no one has really come up to him and asked what he thought of it.

Somewhat off-topic, I was watching the new movie last night, and I wondered, if Berman produced the movie and everything was exactly the same, would it be so loved the way it is here on the BBS.

^Possibly not, it's what they called "Quantum Producer Effect" The guy who produces it affects the response of the people around...

^ Well it's like works of art...they can be piles of garbage, but if a famous name is attached to it...

Bermans trek was boring at times especially Voy and ENT.

But Abrams Trek was just so stupid. I made sure not to read any spoilers or reviews. The last time I heard anything about it was the rumors couple of years ago about the Earth-Romulan war. I came into the cinema fresh eyed and left wishing I didn't waste my money and my friends time (he hates Trek and I made him come along)

I would be a) astonished, then b) angry that he was capable of doing much better with Trek than he did on VOY and ENT, but didn't bother, and then progress to c) decide it must have been all Braga's fault, and thus order in the universe is restored.

I'm sure he's happy that he and TPTB didn't destroy Star Trek beyond repair.

I dunno. You have to wonder if he wasn't actively trying to do that himself sometimes.
When somebody or something doesn't love you the way you want, you want to destroy it. Berman was grinding metel. Berman was just some anonymous guy who was told to do Star Trek again. That's like continuing where Beethoven left off.

Nobody likes to see their legacy go up in smoke. I'm sure Rick Berman is no exception.

In that 2006 interview on Trekmovie.com, he mentions Abrams doing the next film and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about it. Berman never struck me as being terrible petty, at least not in interviews.

Berman created and oversaw 18 years of Trek and a lot of it was pretty good. Abrams has done one Star Trek film.. Time will tell who did the "better version."

Who's Rick Berman? :p

The guy who took over as main man on TNG DS9 VOY and ENT.

I actually do know who he is, I'm just trying to forget... The man single handedly ruined the promise of Enterprise, cool concept, cool ship.... YAWN FEST!!

So if he were asked about Abrams Trek I'm sure he'd say, "Oh, action and adventure... huh, that could have worked""
