Rian Johnson's Trilogy Is NOT Cancelled

I suspect that while George may not have had the particulars in line, and changed a whole lot, that what he wanted to do was there in his mind.. the "Big Picture" that the ST seemed to be missing.
Now with Rian, I hope he has a "Big Picture" for the 3 movies in mind. And I do look forward to what he comes up with.

I think I would have enjoyed the new films more if Rey wasn't a Palpatine. That part stretched things a bit more than my liking. And her being a Solo would not have made it better, IMHO. But, it would have explained Ben and Rey's Force connection better I suppose.

The short version is that there is basically nothing redeemable in The Rise of Skywalker and it is a terrible movie from beginning to end. :p

I found the ST depressing. Especially that everyone who is old had to die and be depressed.
I had preferred that we would have seen the rise of the new Republic and Jedi order.

I would have preferred that too.

But I wasn't depressed at the end either. Luke was the most inspired I felt from SW since reading the ROTS novel.

Last Jedi was the only good one of the sequels - I loved it. Unfortunately the other two compared rather unfavourably to a pile of rotting hyena innards.

Looking forward to Rian's trilogy.

A lot.

I'll believe it when I see it.
This is the only sensible response to this claim. A lot can happen in a few years. There's been no official cancellation, but nothing has been greenlit, either. In other words, the news is there is no news.

I used to be OK with the First Order but I truly think a series showing the rise of the First Order would be appropriate, as well as allowing some of that happily ever after to continue for a time.

And I am fully sentimental. I treat the ST as more of a legends or a possibility and not fully canon. Honest, Star Wars has always been the OT to me so anything outside of that is easy to ignore. I personally don't mind revisiting the themes of the original but I can see why people would not like it.

Well the reason I would have liked it better if Rey was Kylo's sister is because that would have meant Leia and Han had at least one kid that turned out alright.

And yeah that's a good way to look at it. i will be honest, I have a little headcanon version of the PT which I personally like better :-P

It's never going to happen. I think he likes to bring it up from time to time to just troll his haters for fun. Which many of them on youtube love because it gives them a clickbait "story' to cover.

Jason

Until LucasFilm announces that it isn't happening anymore, it's still happening.

Here's my biggest thing, and I drew this from Lucas in regards to the now Legends continuity-SW was created as a sandbox for many other people, like authors, video game creators, and kids playing with SW toys, to create within. So, even if Lucas largely disregarded the Legends others could still embrace it and enjoy it. None of the SW films are immune to such a thing, even the OT.

Lucasfilm never made such announcement for the Weiss & Beniof trilogy either, but the odds of that one happening... Much lower than Rian Johnson's, I reckon.

RJ's trilogy could happen at some point, but the pre-production surely won't start before Johnson finishes other projects he's working on. Realistically, it's gonna be at least a decade before these movies hit the theaters.
