I don't remember Kirk being physically in contact with the Blossoms, was he?

Watch that scene again, he does get hot with them, just like sulu and the other crewman did, but wasn't effected

I'm one episode from finishing watching the entire series on Blu-ray myself. I haven't seen them all in order for about 25 years. There's been some surprises along the way. It's amazing how certain stories or themes become more interesting or important to you at different points in your life. I never remember being so affected by the events of The Paradise Syndrome before. Found it very sad to think about Kirk loosing his wife and unborn child after they're stoned to death. Imagine how hard it would have been to have all those memories from those 3 months, but have to carry on back in your old life? I must be getting soft in my old age...
