"...Reviving Interest Among Diehard Fans"? Really?

I lost interest in moaning years ago.

Ah then you should have plenty of bitching yet within you, Kegg, for that was a two part adjective.

You got me, Captain Dumbass! ;)

Note to mods: Not a flame. That's his old handle from donkey years ago.

I think he started off as a soldier then became primarily an explorer but I hope the Kobiashi Maru is not in this one. I hate a sneak.

The most interesting thing they could do with the Kobyashi Maru would be to place Spock as a three-or-four year student serving on an Academy judicial review board. His first encounter with Kirk is as part of that board reviewing the charges against him for violation of the honor code (cheating on the test). And Spock, of course, quite logically votes with those recommending Kirk's expulsion, only to be overruled by serving members of the Academy administration.

Thanks for the explanation. Before I read the second sentence I thought that I was seeing things.

Which DOES fit into established canon from TWOK since in that early film Spock seems quite aware of most if not all of the circumstances surrounding Kirk's reprogramming of the simulation computer. He is in the know as early as the first few scenes of the film.

Indeed he does seem very up on what went down with Kirk and the test and it plays between Nimoy & Shatner like more then Kirk just having recounted this to his friend - I like this idea.

That article title about Trek XI is bugging me.

Wouldn't "diehard" fans already have their interest going strong? Why would the movie "revive" something that's up and running (and running well) already?

That ticked me off too. That's up there with the UPN Voyager promo for "Scorpion" I think, which claimed the episode "raises science fiction to the level of an art form". Tell that to Clarke and Bradbury.

So I suck at news titles. Sue me. ;)

Was there ever much interest in Trek amongst fans of Diehard? Colm Meany was in Diehard 2, though ( or was it 3? ).

Yippie-kai-yay, ghuy'cha' Qu'vatlh mu'qaD veS!

Colm Meany was in Die Hard 2.

Tim Russ was in Live Free Or Die Hard.

So was Tim deZarn (another Trek 'repeat offender').
