Review that episode!

The better part of this two-parter, where all things are set and promise an interesting denouement (as Data would say.;))
unfortunately, the second part doesn't live up to those expectations.
Interesting detail: in that second part Data may not be able to do contractions, however he can speak French (much better than Picard who's borderline incomprehensible) with a bizarre Belgian accent.

Skin Of Evil

A plastic trashbag immersed in black Metamucil affords Denise Crosby her exit from TNG so that she can launch her stellar career into superstardom.

The Big Goodbye

The first of a long list of holodeck gone wrong shows. It's not a bad episode, but it doesn't stand out.

Justice:

Wes breaks a greenhouse. Gets sentenced to death. Roll credits.

Ah, balls, I forgot this wasn't NuBSG. There was 40 minutes of material after that wasn't there? Pity.

The Wounded

The first opportunity for Colm Meaney on TNG to show his acting abilities by playing a deep emotional role. I like this episode for its strong dialogues and the overtones thereof.

Angel One

"Angel One" is a personal favourite of mine. The late Karen Montgomery is very beautiful, very enjoyable in it. Ramsey was cool ... I felt empathy with his dilemma. More objectively, even with my relative indifference towards feminism, I could've crafted a much better screenplay about it.

The Defector

A fantastic and poignant episode with an outstanding guest star, one of my favorites of TNG. "Shall we die together?" Checkmate. What a scene. TNG truly came into its own in season 3; this episode is one of many standouts.

Night Terrors

Can dreams kill? If you're a member of the USS Brittian, the answer is yes. Hallucinations and a lack of sleep slowly drive the crew of the Enterprise off the edge and into murderous violence when (in the nick of time) Troi and Data come up with a solution to save the day using hydrogen (and a little bit of helium to make funny voices).

Starship Mine

Can a starship have a baby? That bizarre question is given an even more bizarre answer, in that weird episode.

Parallels

Parallels is a very welcomed story for Worf. His character never gets the, Inner Light, Remember Me, Future Imperfect, one character caught in an anomaly kind of episodes. It was actually refreshing to see one play out for him, & it's a pretty solid episode too, with lots of memorable scenes, bringing back Wil Wheaton, & all the differentiations to count as easter eggs. When people point to season 7 being weak, I always remind them of the really good episodes it has, & this one is right at the top of that list, right along with...

Lower Decks

Probably the finest episode the show put up in its final years, full of moral quandaries, fun new characters, a good insight into some of the main crew (especially Riker) and a perfect denouement.

One can look at S7 as either "the year they said eff-it and took some risks" or "the year they ran out of ideas and said eff-it, let's look in the rejected pile".

Lower Decks feels like a rejected early season idea (No, no, we need another Data episode, we've not hit our quota yet), that was found in a dusty pile by Rene Echevarria and lovingly nurtured into the gem it is.

Q-Pid

Definitely the weakest of the Q stories in the entire series. There seems to be absolutely no purpose to this absurd Robin hood parody and it doesn't even have the saving grace of being funny.

Suddenly Human

A very nice episode: Picard's old mentor who's like a second father to him, comes to ask him to drop everything and follow him, Picard likes his current life too much to do that but he's sad that he has to disappoint a man that he esteems so much. The old mentor is wounded, leaves angry and later dies but he has time to make amends for what he's said to Picard...
Well, you'll have to watch it to know how it continues.
I recommend it.

Lessons

Lessons is kinda meh to me, especially with all the great episodes around it. Picard falls for a woman on his crew, and ends up having to send her on a dangerous mission. It takes him believing she dies before he realises he can't date someone under his command.

Where Silence Has Lease

A powerful alien, uses the Enterprise's crew as lab rats. It takes a self destruct order to convince him to release the ship. We're left speculating at to his motivations and why he released the ship. It's an OK episode. It could have been better though.

1100 1001

Captain Picard opens another Man's present - portrayed by Famke Janssen - and, being a Frenchman, Jean-Luc cannot bring himself to regret it.

The Hunted

Great action sequences and a wonderful ending are slightly marred by Troi being irritating and the startlingly lackadaisical efforts of Worf and his security team. Seriously: "Worf, the prisoner is in engineering!" "Got it." *Worf and security officer casually stroll towards the general vicinity of engineering.*
