Revenge of the Cybermen

2. The head guns made me think that these were cyberconverted Silurians. Which doesn't track easily since the Silurians claim to have been hiding from a rouge moon we would one day call luna but the ELE meteor which killed the dinosaurs was a time travelling frieghter loaded with cybermen and cybertechnology... But they could have "met" any old time.

Good point, in all the years of pondering how the Borg were so much like the Cybermen, I never thought about the Cybermen "assimilating" other races.

The story itself is a bit rubbish, but I like the Cybermen of old and Ms Sladen, so I watched it all the way through last time it aired.

A Cybersociety during the Silurian age... Have you ever seen the Dinoriders cartoon? Using brontosauruses as gunnery platforms? I can only imagine that such "creatures" where the first Cyberkings.

But then the first Cybermen were Mondassian from so far back that there were actually Martians living on Mars. And you'd hardly think that they'd bunny hop over the rich Martian culture to cyberconvert the ancient Romans and Greeks if they were even around yet? Of course Atlantis might have been a gem worth plucking up?

According tot he new adventure novels, in 10 thousand years, the cybermen evolve into a benevolent species intending no harm to no body.

I think you might be referring to The World Changers there, the last sixth Doctor comic strip in DWM. That ends with the Time Lords implying that the Cybermen eventually become enlightened.

Later on, DWM ran a strip called Cybermen, which revealed how the Cybermen were the result of the Mondasian Silurians experiments on the Mondasian apes. If it had continued, then there were plans to show a war between the Silurians and invading Ice Warriors.

There's a lot of interesting stuff on the Cybermen strip in Vworp! Wworp!, the pro-zine about the history of DWM that's just been published.

given the process of cyberconversion with it's purging of emotion, I'm not such I can see that happening.
