Yeah, me too, or that it has, at sometime existed, and will again.I believe intelligent life exists elsewhere in the galaxy.
It's here and now I'm not convinced about...

That's from the Weekly World News, a fake newspaper that frequently covered the adventures of America's favorite mutant and former TrekBBS poster Batboy. It isn't really a source of actual information, neither are scifi shows.Even the Egyptians mentioned about aliens over 3000 years ago

Except for Manimal, that actually happened.

Fake? How so? It is proof they saw UFOs. Then who built the pyramids?
The death of the history channel started with Pawn Stars. I'd argue that only the science channel is true to it's name anymore.
There is almost certainly intelligent life somewhere out there. It just might not be near us or given that the universe is billions of years old, could be long dead or we're the first.Although statistically there probably is intelligent life on other planets, statistically it is probably not within a 100ly radius of us.

They make things up, that's the point of it. Here's another headline from it.How so?
No, it's proof that the Weekly World News had access to photoshop and that P.T. Barnum was right. It is proof they saw UFOs.
Egyptians, if you actually read research and not Stargate reruns you might learn a bit of how we figured that out. I like Daniel Jackson too, but he isn't a real doctor. He's a fictional character. Then who built the pyramids?

My faith (Lutheran) teaches that we have absolutely no idea when the 'end of days' will come. There will be no warning - no signs of any kind. I believe it.
If the universe is a false vacuum I think that's exactly right.
The idea that there were UFOs in the 1940s that just happened to show up right after we started telling stories about them seemed a bit far fetched to me.
First off, unless they're extremely nearby they'd have no way to know there's even intelligent life here. Unless they were checking planets randomly and got really, really lucky.
Second, unless it actually is possible to travel faster than light, coming here would mean burning a tremendously huge amount of resources and everybody on board saying goodbye to the civilization they know forever. If they were going to make that big an investment to come here, wouldn't their motives have to demand more than just putting probes up a few people's butts? Like, stealing our resources or de-terraforming our planet?
I would even go as far as to say, if there actually have been aliens here in the last hundred years, it all but proves the existence of faster than light travel, because the idea that they would come here without it and still have stealthy motives is ridiculous.
If coming to Earth is as easy to them as us going to Europe then maybe they came here just to study our anatomy. Otherwise, I strongly doubt it.
After seeing the people in this thread who fancy themselves intellectuals, all responding to an obvious troll repeatedly, I tend to agree.Sometimes I think the existence of intelligent life on this planet is debatable.

Food Network used to have cooking shows, now it is full of game shows and reality shows that may or may not nominally have something to do with food.
TLC and Discovery used to be about, you know, learning and discovering stuff. Not so much anymore.
ESPN is still devoted to sports, though they do cover things like bowling and the World Series of Poker too.
Mission creep, I guess, or maybe just selling out.
