Who believes this is happening now? Its not. First of all Dieaases and famine has to happen all over the world. Its only happening in Africa. And the Middle east has to declare war on Isreal. Right now they're only fighting themselves like ISIS. And the world market has to collapse The Ruble is getting weak but the Dollar,Euro and the British pound are getting stronger. And Weather problems all over Asia i see no evidence of that. Its not gonna happen in our lifetime. But maybe in the next century.

I don't believe this is happening now. I take this show and Ancient Aliens as an exploration of "what if"? They are interesting and sometimes intriguing to watch, but not based in reality. I have yet to actually watch this though.

If the world does end, any resemblance to a prophecy will be pure coincidence.

Does anyone else think the History Channel should be legally obligated to change its name? Aliens, doomsday prophecies, cover history or free up the name damn it!

Things have been shitty since the Big Bang. We as a species are usually constantly fighting some war or dealing with some self-inflicted problem. But we actually live in the best time to be a human being in recorded history. If you go to the beach and see a boat heading towards you, most likely it's a bunch of tourists. It used to be a bunch of people wanting to kill you and take your land.

So no, I don't think we're close to the end of the world, especially not one from a religion.

I do believe in aliens.By watching Star Trek taught me that.
You do know that it is just a tv show, don't you?

It's not happening now. It's not happening in the future. It's not happening period.

Superstition, hocus pocus and guff.

The world may suffer major uphevals, but it's got nothing to do with 'end times' prophesies, more likely to be climate change...

It won't happen on World economic crises. It might not happen when Israel attacks Iran. it won't happen when WWIII erupts. It won't happen when world striken by diseases or famine. But it will happen when theres a big meteor heading towards earth. And that even might not happen until 2040

That particular asteroid is no longer considered a threat. But even if it was a threat, we could likely deflect it enough that it missed.

The world isn't ending which means we should probably get started trying to fix it.

I believe intelligent life exists elsewhere in the galaxy, I just don't believe it counts as a historical program to wildly speculate about ways they might have influenced world history by fabricating a lot of strained circumstantial evidence and pretending your guests are experts.

My faith (Lutheran) teaches that we have absolutely no idea when the 'end of days' will come. There will be no warning - no signs of any kind. I believe it.

As for aliens: I believe in them too. Why shouldn't I?

I absolutely believe there is intelligent alien life out there in the rest of galaxy and certainly in the universe. I'd even go so far as to say that I KNOW there is life out there. The sheer vastness of the universe makes it a certainty because it's pretty much impossible in all of the whole entirety of the universe that we're the only planet with life, intelligent life at that, on it.

There's no way that's the case.

Now, are those aliens coming here and interfering with our lives, our development and shoving things up our asses? No.

No. This is neither the "End of Days", nor any other similar scenario. Granted, there will come a day when the Earth will no longer be capable of supporting life, but we're not there yet, and when it does come, it won't be due to some mythic end times apocalypse.

History really needs to change the name of their channel to "Bullshit." I'm sure Penn & Teller would be willing to give up the naming rights in the interests of truth in advertising.

If the universe is a false vacuum I think that's exactly right.

The idea that there were UFOs in the 1940s that just happened to show up right after we started telling stories about them seemed a bit far fetched to me.

First off, unless they're extremely nearby they'd have no way to know there's even intelligent life here. Unless they were checking planets randomly and got really, really lucky.

Second, unless it actually is possible to travel faster than light, coming here would mean burning a tremendously huge amount of resources and everybody on board saying goodbye to the civilization they know forever. If they were going to make that big an investment to come here, wouldn't their motives have to demand more than just putting probes up a few people's butts? Like, stealing our resources or de-terraforming our planet?

I would even go as far as to say, if there actually have been aliens here in the last hundred years, it all but proves the existence of faster than light travel, because the idea that they would come here without it and still have stealthy motives is ridiculous.

If coming to Earth is as easy to them as us going to Europe then maybe they came here just to study our anatomy. Otherwise, I strongly doubt it.

The History Channel hasn't been about real, genuine, history for about 15 years.

Exactly, which is why they need to change the name.

They've been monitoring our radio transmissions for over 100 years. That's how they learned our languages. They tell us that all the time.

They're just too stupid to realize they need to contact people more important than illiterate redneck farmers.

Judging by the quality of our broadcasts, we're just getting back what we put out.
