reusing set pieces

was just watching 'eye of the beholder' and the upper section of the nacelle control looks like the upper section of voyagers engineering. anyone know if the design was nabbed for voyager or if it was reused?

erm, the one where ensign 'Quon?' throws himself into the plasma stream of the nacelle. thoughts embedded in the wall of the nacelle control room.

it's all quite messed up!

hmm... can't think of any of voyager's sets that remind me of that episode. But trek has been known to re-use sets.

i mean the side consoles on the upper section of the wall on tng, and the side consoles on the upper balcony above the door in the entrance to engineering in voyager...

Good catch. Of course, TNG's Eye of the Beholder was filmed and aired before VOY, and the VOY Engineering set hadn't been built yet because it was constructed in place of the TNG Engineering set after it was torn down for GEN. But it is possible that the nacelle control room set was saved and then reused for VOY -- the question was which set was designed first and which production was the one trying to save money? Was anyone working on any preliminary designs for VOY sets when TNG's 7th season was being filmed? I though everyone was busy prepping for GEN at that point.

But there is another example much like this. I believe that VOY used one of the ENT sets -- the shuttlepod bay -- in "Workforce" a year before ENT ever aired:
