Return of Shipper Thread Guidelines--MUST READ

Well when Kal wakes up and finds her first full day as mod--her birthday no less---is already full of strife I am sure she will say --"Oh what have I done!" . I think pookha is right the mods know some of us better than we know each other!

I don't think Kalen is so much the issue. The issue is people's perception. Whether it's wrong or right..people on the board get lumped into either A/T or T/T when it comes to shipping.

Since we already all know where Kalen falls when things get heated it's gonna be worst if she's the mod to step in. Let's face it..the shippers create most of the problems in this forum..it's unrealistic to assume that Kalen can avoid any shipper disputes.

yes, she was. did I mention that it was at a "controversial time"? without going into details, she WAS impartial and very fair in dealing with some anti-trip postings. in other words -- she didn't take any shit from anyone -- be it pro-A/T'P or the anti-A/T'P voices.

Back to the question about pictures in the threads I wanted to know why it is okay for other threads in different sections like Misc. to be able to post full size pictures and we can not???

i dont see a problem myself with regular size ones but i dont like the ones that stretch out the page and make things hard to read..

the biggest problem was the images beig quoted again and again..

they could push out commentary from a thread now that i look back on it./.

I agree... I hate it when they are not sized properly as well. Maybe if they could be 6x6 or lower it would be perfect!

agreed as well. I don't think having a size guideline would be bad! please, mods, can we have our pics threads with a size guideline?

Just to add to what jkladis has said....

Kalen was chosen by the Mods of this forum and the board administration because we believe her to be suitable for the role. I can also tell you that relationships within Enterprise are meaningless to my self, Top41 and Jkladis - we watch the show because we enjoy it and take it for what it is, entertainment. I think I can safely say that none of us really care who T'Pol ends up with as long her character is well written. I can't say that I know much about Kalen and her preferences, I don't know her very well at the moment, but I trust Top41's judgment in regards to recommending her for for the job. Whatever 'ship' Kalen follows, I am sure that she won't let it cloud her decisions as a Moderator.

This however is not the subject of this thread. Any further issues regarding this matter should really be taken to Questions, Suggestions and Feedback, though I see doing so at this point as being unfair considering that Kalen has not yet had a chance to prove herself.

Really, folks. I hardly find it appropriate for some of you to turn this thread into an open debate over this board's choice of staff. You should know better than that.

Moderators are people. Of course we have personal preferences and bias -- In anything and everything. The idea when exercising your duties as a moderator, is to be able to overcome your partialness and inclinations as best you can.

I'd like us not to wander in this direction again.

LQ used to be a mod. She likes T/T'P. She was also mostly fair. Top41 strikes me as a Tucker fan, but she's also not mostly fair. Mostly fair is really the best you can hope for in a mod. I don't care what they think, as long as they can keep the peace or give warnings to the people who need it. Of course, JK for the most part, is an uber-fair mod. They don't make many like him.

If I were you, I would pay heed to what jkladis has said above and not go any further with any discussion of what Kalen will or will not put up with in this thread. This thread is solely for the discussion of the lifting of the moratorium on shipper threads.

After reading your concerns, I had more than a few thoughts on the matter of Kalen, however, I agree with jkladis that this thread needs to get back on topic. Any further discussion about her appointment is a matter to take up in QSF, which is linked to above.

I think Top41 is very fair in her decisions. I don't understand why you think she is not.

Im going to jump in here and add my two cents.
Im a Scott Bakula fan, Came Bak to Star Trek because of Him!
I for one would love to see Archer and T'Pol get together but if it dont happen it dont happen. I love the Bakula/Archer rage threads and Love all the pics that people post. I sometimes forget that not everyone has DSL or Cable so I can see where a thread loaded with pics would take a long time for someone on dial up to load. If all is allowed is a link then so be it, But I love to come and drool over our, MY favorite Captain and visit often to see who has posted new pics and made what drooly comment and often add mine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Perhaps the problem is simply too many of are clueless that being both moderator and normal user and need to be guided to quality by a more informed source? Like say a real critic?
