Rear Admiral

Why is Chakotay attracted to Seska? Are you kidding me!? She's full of confidence, mischief and sass. She sizzles her way through a scene and has a permanent glint in her eye. I only wonder why everyone isn't attracted to her.

A better question would be, why is she attracted to Chakotay? You might say she's pretending in order to gain his confidence but no, I think she genuinely does have an attraction for him. This insipid, bland piece of piss beige. Why?

The dynamics of the characters are really starting to get fleshed out now and we're starting to see relationships develop and identity's forged. Poor Carey is clearly the sad sack of Voyager (at least he got home to his wife though, huh).

I also loved B'Elanna telling Janeway that when she says it will take this amount of time to fix something, she isn't exaggerating. "If I say three hours, I mean three hours." A nice touch considering pretty much every other Trek show had always stuck with the cliché.

Captain: How long until the engines are online?
Engineer: It should take two hours, captain.
Captain: You've got one!
Engineer: Understood.

A fun episode but a crying shame that we lost Seska this early. I would have preferred to see her bond with more of the crew and really connect with them before she was revealed as a traitor. I also thought Seska was so much hotter as a Bajoran so it was also as shame she got covered up in Cardassian make-up. A character that we should have seen more of.

It was apparent why he liked Seska. Strong women with some sort of dilemma or inner conflict. eg: belanna, Janeway, Fraiser. (Seska made up her past) Why she liked him is mystery. Maybe a part of her wanted to find the true meaning of peace? haha.

A great story which will be the beginning of the Voyager vs Culluh and Seska arc.
Seska is finally revealed as a spy and will become a great villain together with Culluh for seasons 1 and 2.
The way Seska is revealed is exciting even if the interrogation of Carey in Janeway's ready room is a bit rude.

I'll give it 4 points out of 5

I wasn't too impressed with Voyager early on, but this is one of the standout episodes for me. I enjoyed it. Thought Seska was great.

To the first sentence I agree. I think Seska is great. Too bad they didn`t give her more to do.

On the other hand Chakotay Why is she attracted for him?
I would ask why isn`t everyone attracted to him?

He`s georgious, manly, he has a strong personality, he`s trustworthy, a leading man.
I can understand why Seska falled in love with him. I would.

Btw. I very like this episode. It`s an interesting story and well done. I also like the scene between Torres and Janeway were Torres wants to convice Janeway to save Chakotay. I think Torres still had a crush on Chakotay (like she had in Persistence of Vision).

Hmmmm....I think that you are mixing this episode up with the season 2 episode "Maneuvers" where Chakotay goes after Seska and the Kazon to take back the transporter the Kazon stole from Voyager. Then he get caught by the Kazon and B'Elanna persuades janeway to go after the Kazon and rescue Chakotay.

Anyway, both episodes are very good.

Oh, yes. You are right.

This was a well-acted episode, but I couldn't get over the idea that a Cardasian's organs - never mind their DNA - could be indistinguishable from that of a Bajoran. Did I miss some crucial plot point that explained that seemingly huge discrepancy??
