Restricted Author's Continuity — The Truth Behind Donavon's Origins:
TOP SECRET — STORY DEVELOPMENT ARCHIVE
This section is canon for the USS KONGO storyline, but is not part of Donavon's ordinary Starfleet personnel file.
Starfleet's knowledge of these events remains unestablished.
The hidden history: 1966–1974
Donavon was actually born on June 15, 1966, in Minnesota. Both parents were of Norwegian ancestry.
His mother, Valkyrie, was born in Minnesota; his father was born in Norway.
His father possessed genetically engineered Augment traits connected to a secret program originating in Nazi-era German experimentation.
A Middle Eastern El-Aurian scientist contributed advanced knowledge that enabled the genetic modifications to be concealed.
Donavon inherited Augment traits through his father. The full extent of his abilities remains to be established.
In 1973, at age Eight, Donavon encountered a young Khan Noonien Singh at a facility associated with Augment children.
Khan bullied him because of his partial Augment ancestry, grabbed his shirt, and attempted to intimidate him.
Donavon responded by punching Khan in the face, knocking him to the ground. When challenged, Donavon declared:
"I can't stand bullies."
This encounter is a defining event in Donavon's childhood.
Donavon's father later helped evacuate Khan and the other Augment children after an extraterrestrial attack on the facility.
He died after helping them reach safety.
The Quell abduction:
In 1974, Donavon and Rabbitlee Summerly were abducted by the Quell, a technologically advanced extraterrestrial species known as the Ancient Conquerors.
The Quell originated in an extremely ancient, distant galaxy and had survived a catastrophic intergalactic war.
They sought to use the children's genetic potential to develop enhanced soldiers capable of establishing Quell domination over the Milky Way.
The Quell possessed extraordinary technological knowledge, including temporal travel and conduits capable of linking distant regions of space.
Their most dangerous technological asset was an indestructible data pad containing an immense library of scientific knowledge.
A Quell defector escaped with the original device, while a destructible duplicate retained by the Quell was subsequently destroyed.
Ash and the Defector as they do a pursuit through time.
Ash, an El-Aurian captured by the Quell, escaped with the assistance of the defector and another individual working secretly against the Quell.
Ash and the defector pursued the abductors into Earth's past. Although they arrived too late to prevent the kidnappings, they brought Valkyrie aboard their vessel and followed the Quell through time.
Their pursuit culminated in a battle above Veridian III in 2351.
Both Quell spacecraft crashed on the planet.
Ash and the defector boarded the abductors' vessel, defeated the remaining Quell, rescued Donavon and Rabbitlee, and initiated the ship's self-destruction.
They subsequently destroyed their own damaged Quell vessel and departed aboard Ash's smaller spacecraft, the Space Matic II.
Before leaving, they supplied the three survivors with food, water, and shelter provisions.
Using the original data pad, the defector inserted convincing identity records into 24th-century computer systems.
These records established Donavon, Rabbitlee, and Valkyrie as people belonging to that era, without triggering security alerts.
The Excelsior-class USS KONGO subsequently rescued the survivors, unaware of their true origins.
The unresolved mysteries
These elements are deliberately reserved for future USS KONGO stories:
Donavon's exact inherited Augment abilities and limitations.
The El-Aurian scientist's full identity, motivations, and fate.
The Quell defector's identity and the subsequent history of the original data pad.
The full nature of the Quell's relationship with the Q Continuum.
The details of Ash's later adventures.
Whether Starfleet ever discovers Donavon's true genetic and temporal origins.
These mysteries will remain unresolved until the final chapters of the Kongo have been posted within the development of the stories, the story's will be posted with further details at a later time.
