Resident Evil FILM Franchise

Ooooh Jill. Nusing a semi thinking about that skirt of hers.

Alice was "okay" in the first film, but by the second film, her outfit made her look like she had testicles sticking out of either side of her hotpants, sticking to her legs.

Wait... there's THREE of them? I must have done a great blotting the first two from my memory cos I had no idea there was a third.

In what universe could Ali Larter possibly be Clare Redfield? Only in the shitty Resi film-verse, that's where. And I thought it couldn't get any worse.

Yeah, she didn't look that great in the second film (yet another reason to hate the movie :p).

I enjoyed all 3 movies, and am glad to hear they're making a 4th to finish things off. Now if only SD Perry would get permission to complete the novel series....

I hope the first part of your post was sarcasm.

The second part, yes, the novels are amazing....except Caliban Cove and Underworld.

The Umbrella Conspiracy is the best, I've read it so many times. Has some Forest action <3 <3 <3

I love that novel! Thought it was the best.

A fourth to finish it off you say? Try a fifth and a sixth. They won't stop making them until the series has lost all credibility. They want to make a fourth, fifth and sixth Spider-Man films, and Saw just decided to get it over and done with and make all 6.

I've only seen the first movie and after watching it found myself with very little desire to see any of the sequels.

I was huge fan of the games, though I haven't been really into a Resi game since number 4 on the Cube. I'd played a demo of number 5 but it just felt clumsy, which is down to one of two things: the fact I played it on a 360 (a console I'm not used to) or playing Dead Space non-stop has gotten me used to being able to aim and shoot together so playing Resi 5 felt like a gaming step backwards.

I think my problem with the film is that it did away with the core premise of the games (up until 4 of course) which is Survival Horror. The games were all about scrambling around looking for ammo that was in scarce supply while fending off the undead. And all the while you were trying to piece together the mystery of what happened here and more importantly how to escape.

The film lost this completely by turning the lead character into a super-powered-up, kick-ass babe who can take out pretty much any BOWs that happen to get in her way.

I wasn't expecting a carbon copy of the games (and realize that Anderson wanted to do this but Capcom vetoed the idea early on) but when the film bears no resemblance to the core principle of the game then for them to share the same name is strangely insulting to the original (gaming) franchise.

Like I said I haven't seen any of the sequels so it could be that some of my criticisms had been rectified or addressed in films 2 or 3 but I really don't have the enthusiasm (or the patience) to sit down and watch two sequels to a movie that left me very bored and disappointed.

(Not even Sienna Guillory as a perfect "Nemesis-era" Jill Valentine can entice me to watch any more live-action Resi)
