Remember that old lady in STIV who grew a new kidney?

And Star Trek saves another life!

Seriously, I can't think of a better miracle for this little girl and her parents. Nice to hear some good news for a change.

Tres cool. I'm so happy for her.

Were that it were Doc McCoy. Thank this cockamamie universe for improbable mutations.

Kirk: Bones...you're a Godsend.

Bones: Dang right--and don't you forget it!

Spock: Doctor...there was no deity involved. It was your treating the girl with the proper medications that cured her.

Bones: Well, then...does your logic presume to explain just how I happened to be in the right place, at the right time?

Spock: :vulcan:...No...it does not....

She must be so happy, even if she's not totally aware of it on a conscious level given her age. :techman::bolian::techman::)

That particular logic only functions if one is unaware of how the law of averages functions. And if one disregards all of the numerous instances in Doctor McCoy's life when he was in the wrong place at the wrong time to save someone. Low probability is not impossibility.
