Very smart of the suits to do this. Increase the TOS knowledge to the masses with a wide showing of The Cage. If I were Paramount, I would try and actually broadcast this wide. It's that good an episode. The acting was superb.

I know I'm in the minority but I just can't stand "The Cage" so I'm not too excited about it as a method of plugging new viewers into Trek.

I realized it's pretty universally loved though so I'm probably just talking out my ass.

I'm not too sure about our nearest IMAX, tho'. Probably just a regular theater.

I saw it in theaters last year and was astonished at just how bad it was.

yup it was "The Menagerie" I went and saw it. I really enjoyed it on the big screen. I for one am glad to see the cage. Last time I saw it it had all those bits of black and white and changing voices in it.

So does this mean they'll re-remaster "The Menagerie," since it's a wrapper for "The Cage?" Or are they using the same upgrades from "The Menagerie" and just blending them into any bits that weren't already aired?

It looks as if the opening push-in shot where they integrated a CG bridge into the live-action from the original may have been tweaked between the remastered "Menagerie" and "The Cage."

Captain Robert April. The "FIRST" captain of the Constitution Class U.S.S. Enterprise. Not to mention he's this series' first captain to be married at the time of his service which is more rare than a gay couple in Star Trek.
