Well, Spielberg did about the same thing, only more so:

I think meeting online and via email suited our personalities greatly. He is very quiet, barely speaks if he doesn't know a person so I can't see how we would have ever even gotten to know each other if we did live in the same area.

This is exactly how it was with my husband and me starting out as penfriends. I'm pretty talkative (no, really!) and back then he was incredibly shy and socially awkward. If we'd bumped into each other somewhere I can't see any way that we would have connected.

I met my sweetie when she lived upstairs from me as a neighbor.

She moved out of the apartment and into my heart. She loves Monty Python, MST3K, and Life on Mars. She's a huge nerd. For Halloween this year, we want to go as Steed and Mrs. Peel from The Avengers. I've never felt so close to someone before, we really do compliment each other. We are planning to get married someday, so I guess that makes her my fiancée.

Not the bestest picture, but I loves it.

She has been told that she looks like Sean Young, btw.

I can't even begin to tell you how happy i am for you! You make me laugh almost every single day and that someone is making you happy is just...so...wonderful!!!

However these people flew in airplanes and met each other IRL and had an actual wedding (which costs way more than doing it in WoW but whatever..)
