Married for 13 1/2 years; 6 1/2 legally (I'm one of teh geyz, so we have 2 anniversaries.) Together for almost 19 years.
But I'm, ya know, sort of a black sheep; cuz we all know "my kind" are nothing but promiscuous sluts who can't commit.

I'm single and not dating. In fact, discounting high school homecoming and prom, I've only been on two dates in my life. I don't live in my parent's basement because it is way too cold down there. I live on the second floor. Oh, and I freely admit to being a nerd/geek.
Just to prove that the stereotype IS true, I'll let you know that I've never had a girlfriend and am a virgin who has never been kissed. Muhaha! TMI! But truth be told it does not concern me really as I am not desperate for a girlfriend. It would be nice to meet someone someday but my happiness is not dependent on being in a relationship.

I think about that sometimes and it freaks me out. How can i be this old????? I mean, my body feels old most of the time thanks to the arthritis, but my mind feels a whoooole lot younger.

I just realized I don't remember my wedding anniversary! July something .... 2008. Maybe it's on my Google Calendar!
Maybe you still have invites you sent out or something? I wonder how one figures that out (short of asking someone, of course).

Well we never picked up our wedding DVD and they just mailed it to us so I bet it's on there. Or my photo album. I'm sure my husband knows, I'm just crap at remembering dates.
This is the funniest thing I have read today. Not many women who are that recently married don't remember their anniversary. Shoot, I remember my anniversary, and I was divorced from the guy 15 years ago.
Anyway, in terms of the thread topic, that gives my status - divorced. I've been engaged once and nearly engaged another time since being divorced. But I've been burned very badly in relationships, and so am extremely gun-shy, at this point.
And I don't live in my parent's basement. I have my own basement. But my basement is not a nerd fortress or anything - it's actually a pretty decent gym, at this point - treadmill, spinning bike, weights, etc.
I hope nobody thought I meant the "basement" part literally, because I really didn't.

Looks about right to me (we should have also taken people's ages into account). Besides, there are so many reasons a person can be single. Maybe they haven't started dating yet. Maybe they are inbetween relationships. Maybe they aren't trying to be in a relationship. Maybe they're trying and failing. Who knows?
And frankly, "single but dating regularly" is such a bizarre and foreign concept to me. It's something sitcom characters do, but it's not something I have ever seen real people do in practice.
I'm more surprised by the lack of people who are dating but aren't married. We have lots of singles, lots of married folks, but very few in between.
I wanted overall demos regardless of age, I suppose, except for those who are too young for dating (I assume we might have a 13-year-old or two hanging around. )
I also thought about doing a breakdown by gender but given that this board is something like 90% male I didn't figure it would make much difference to the results. The sample size of female members would be too small to be particularly enlightening.
