Reign - The CW

What Mary sees in him is effectiveness.

If she wants something done, it gets done.

Which makes him a dog, not a husband.

I daresay these royals surely had loose morals back in their days. Kings could freely take mistresses. Nobles, like Lord Narcisse, were even willing to offer their daughters or nieces to the king. A monarch could even court another man's wife, the way Antoine pursued Kenna.

Yet given all this, the queen could never have an extramarital affair under the pain of death, but Francis did have a change of heart and gave Mary his blessing to discreetly see Louis Conde whilst offering his wife protection. What a noble and selfless act indeed. Mary and Conde's courtship, however, was quite dizzying and filled with "Let's do it" and "Let's not do it" moments. Just do it already!

Greer got a surprise visit from Leith, and now perhaps they can rekindle their romance. Kenna was ready to leave Bash for Antoine but soon realized she would be making a big mistake. Though unfortunately for her, Bash found out and was put off by her would-be infidelity.

Mary is the Queen of two countries.

She can insist on Conde's execution in almost any manner on a whim.

He can't trust her to be reasonable.

Mary would understand, okay she should understand because Conde didn't want to go through with his brother's plan.

Women are a stabby minefield who want to be insulted.

Men might be careless with what they say, but women chose how they interpret menspeak depending on how the rest of their day has been, and everything you have ever said to them.

And that's if they're sober.

It's actually quite strange how everyone in this show is almost always sober.

When Mary finds out that Conde is trying to marry her cousin who is trying to kill her, and cannot stay in France because Conde is the ticket to an English invasion of France, betrayed is not a strong enough word.

Reraped is though.

His brother, as head of the family sold Conde to Elizabeth.

As far as Elizabeth is concerned that is her finance, and she's probably told a lot of people who will laugh at her (behind her back) if that is not her bloke after making claims that he was. Cheating on Lizzy or ditching the Queen of England is a capital crime that results in a beheading.

Even the failure to/attempted marriage to Elizabeth will be seen as treason to the French, and be an act of war, if it's even rumoured that English soldiers will garrison in the little principality Conde comes from, which obviously is going to be crushed, burned and salted by Franics before it becomes Elizabeth's new foothold on (in?) France.

What Conde has done is not betraying his girlfriends affections, but agreeing to be an English Flag in a political game that's bound to be a war any day now. If he stays in French court, Francis will cut his head off for being an English Spy/Agent/Subversive.

If on the other hand Conde goes to Scotland, then England and France will both try to destroy him for stealing one queen and denying another, which is not ideal. Not ideal is better than the impossibility of staying in France once he is labelled a criminal and a traitor.

After he marries Elizabeth he is safe, a Prince of England even, before he says I do, he's just some #### who can be pushed down a well and no one gives a ####.

It's not Mary's hurt feelings that are the problem, it's Mary's mouth. If she repeats the story once by accident, Conde's limbs are ripped off by wild horses that's one thing, but if she repeats his truth to exactly the people who will sign his death warrant because she wants to see him ripped apart by wild horses, well that's just to be expected from hell's fury.

Mary is 15.

Stop thinking of her as an adult that can see more than 5 seconds ahead of whatever is in front of her face.

Conde is a billionaire until Francis or his brother takes his lands/peasants and money from him whenever they feel like it.

Imagine you had more than $35 in your bank account and your parents or the government could take it when ever they felt like if you stepped out of line one inch.

Mo money, mo problems.

And a Power Ranger villainess!

Mary has been through a lot and Conde has been less than honest with her even though he claims to care.

I looked at some Youtubes seconds after asking the question.

Summer grows up to be Tinkerbell on Once Upon a Time, and is going to be on DC Comic's IZombie in a week or two.

Did the Once Upon a Time/Frozen crossover challenge your sense of right and wrong?

Wait, what? Three queens vying for power? What?

Mary and Elizabeth never met. They occasionally wrote one another, so unless Elizabeth's scenes all take place on her own, much like the Vatican scenes in The Tudors, I don't see the hows or whys of adding Elizabeth to Reign.

On the other hand, this show is totally Alien Space Bats, so I don't know why I'm looking for any sort of historical accuracy in it.

Next season has a Martian invasion.

MEEP! MEEP!

HA!

The twins on Blackish are Jack and Diane like from that old John Mellencamp song.

(I am so slow.)

:)
