References to the Prequel Trilogy?

It really doesn't. Not for me, nor for most of my friends. None of us could make it through the first season. Their attempts to give the characters more. . . shall we say "character," just feel quaint and adolescent and obvious. Which is basically the major failing of the PT as a whole.

The Clone Wars series really does evolve and becomes (mostly) more mature and darker as it progresses. In the end, it really does a lot for characters and themes that were presented in the PT. I'm actually planning a rewatch sometime in the near future.

That's a shame. I recommend trying again with Season 5 or 6.

The show really does get pretty good in the later seasons.

Well you go from only showing droids getting sliced up to Ahsoka beheading four Mandalorians in one swing of her lightsabers.

^ Stupid.

It's a small statue.

People are going NUTS trying to find things and come up with weird theories, ending up making themselves look like bell ends.

This is what clickbait is all about - create something out of nothing, then publish an article about it. Guaranteed clicks.

Bonus points if it's complete nonsense because some people can't resist the chance to correct someone.

I forget where I saw it, but I read a comment somewhere to the effect of: "on the internet if you ask a question all you get is unhelpful people telling you to go google it. But if you state something incorrect as fact, they practically fall over themselves to set you right.
Thus the solution is to purposely state an incorrect answer to a question you want answered and the rest will take care of itself."

Something about that just tickles me. ;)

It made Jar Jar *almost* tolerable and made me like the idea of bringing Maul back to life. One of those alone is nothing short of a miracle. Even the first season--a little rough though it may be--showed much more promise than some gave it credit for. I believe it was the second or third episode that aired (the one with Yoda and a batch of clones evading Asajj Ventress) that really sold me on the show. That felt much more like the OT Yoda than the one we got in the prequels.

That was actually the 1st episode aired.
