References to rock music in Voyager episodes and books

For some strange reason, rock music is sadly rejected in Star Trek.

Riker likes jazz, Kim plays clarinet and they have different musical events here and there. But no rock music and it's my intention to change that.

In fact, I have discovered some hidden references to rock music here and there in Voyager episodes and books and it's an honor for me to present them:

KIM: "This had a lot of Traffic once"
NEELIX: "Traffic"?

Even the colors on Voyager were tame. No bright orange, no deep purple.

Woodstock is mentioned briefly in "Death Wish". And I think they were playing rock music on the jukebox in "Homestead".
Yes, how could I forget Ginsburg? I actually liked that Woodstock was brought up in that episode.
I haven't watched "Homestead" so I had no idea of that.

Don't bother, it was pretty meh. Here's the relevant bit:

I think Paris and B'Elanna make out to rock 'n' roll music in a holographic classic car at the the end of one episode.

In 'Real Life', the Doctor comes to his holographic family home to find his holographic son listening to some kind of Klingon metal.

The Tamarians would rock the alternative rock scene, maybe performing alongside the Crash Test Dummies and They Might Be Giants.

Now that was good!
Neelix seems to have good taste. I'll remember it the next time I get some rock music related idea!

Is Sarah Silverman’s character listening to rock music in Future’s End or have rock music posters in her lab?

Agree. Though the final Neelix sendoff (including Tuvok showing his appreciation for Neelix) is absolutely awesome, imho.
That's one reason for me to not watch it.
I hate that they dumped Neelix with only three episodes left.

I couldn't help myself... had to do it.

From what series or movie is that?

Anyway, the kid is right! :techman:

Interesting... I never felt he was 'dumped' simply because he's not on the ship for the final episode two-parter (but still in it, even if only by video connection), and I also thought his decision to leave ship made a lot of sense in-universe too. (But going into that would be straying from the topic completely.)
