Red vs Blue Recreation

I just finished this series on DVD. Even though this is my favorite thing of all time I completely forgot about and didn't even know the DVD of an entire series had come out back in November!!!

I had such an unabiding love for this show. The characters, the comedy, the ridiculous situations... I love it. I love Caboose, I love Sarge...

I thought "Recreation" was a better series than "Reconstruction" was. While I enjoyed Reconstruction, it's attempts at telling a more serious story left me a little cold. I thought Recreation was a much better blend of story and action and comedy.

As always, the new Halo 3 graphics are absolutely gorgeous and it's so cool to see all the new cinematic tricks they can pull now.

Thank god we finally got Donut back. Also loved seeing Sarge and Caboose teamed up. That was one of my favorite things about early S3.

I think my favorite thing about this series was the attention to continuity. They constantly made jokes about the ridiculous back story they've accumulated. I had completely forgotten that Simmons was mostly cyborg now :p

One thing that definitely pissed me off is how it ends on a cliffhanger resolving nothing. The Blues are surrounded by aliens at the Temple.... and the Reds are double teamed by Meta and Washington and Donut ?dies?... Needed more resolution!

Also didn't they kill the Meta at the end of the last series? In either case I felt he didn't belong in this story.

Anybody know when the new series will being to air on the internet?

Needed more resolution!

Well then, you'll just have to wait for Red vs Blue: Resolution. ;)

Personally, I liked Reconstruction better (I think it's the best thing they've done so far), but Recreation was fun. It was a bit of a tease having Church and Tex in the trailer but having *neither* of them actually show up in the season (not really).

Also didn't they kill the Meta at the end of the last series? In either case I felt he didn't belong in this story.
The Meta, yes, but not Agent Maine.

Anybody know when the new series will being to air on the internet?
Don't know yet. We'll probably see another mini-series first, like Recovery One and Relocated.

In case you didn't keep up with it, I also highly recommend watching RT Shorts Volume 1, which is also on DVD if you are so inclined. My favorites are Crazy Dream, Blur, and Pongo.....eh, they're all awesome.

(I'm on dial-up) What are RT Shorts? They're by Rooster Teeth I assume? Are they made with Halo 3 or something else?

Ah, dial-up would be a problem....

RT Shorts are Rooster Teeth's foray into live action comedy. It's basically a series of sketches set in the Rooster Teeth offices. They're hysterical.

Wow, I haven't watched RVB since the end of season 1, like 5 years ago. Funny enough, entirely independent of this thread I decided to look them up again the other night. The first new season I went through was recreation, then the mini before that, and then reconstruction. While going backwards was entertaining in a Memento sort of way, I decided it was getting too confusing, so I started at the very beginning again, with those legendary words: "Why are we here?" :D About to get started on s03...

Season Two and Three are the golden years for me. An endless number of hilarious, classic bits. A good story. But I love it all. Such warm fuzzy memories. Though in Season One they were definitely on a learning curve.

With all this talk of Halo making the jump to live action, I'd much rather see someone make a RVB sitcom. :)

Season Three was great! They actually had a story and a mission. The opening chapters with the Reds and Blues teaming up with each other is the high point of the series. Sarge and Caboose versus the Zealots is the best episode of all time! And they actually had a villain they were fighting against. And then we got the upgraded Halo 2 graphics. Though I agree the final bits of S3 weren't as good.

My problem with season 3 is mainly that it just dragged on to long, yeah. And frankly I never found Andy all that funny.
