But he was blond, not a redhead.

Any time you ever see him as a blond, that's due to wonderful Hollywood makeup artists.

I'll believe it when I see it. From my experience, red headed males are akin to transformers. We hide in plain site.

ANYTHING by Poliakoff is worth watching. My absolute favourite writer/director. Highly recommend 'F&C', its sort-of-sequel, 'Gideon's Daughter' (with Bill Nighy and Robert Lindsay), 'Shooting the Past' (with Lindsay Duncan and Timothy Spall), and my favourite of them all, 'Perfect Strangers (US: 'Almost Strangers') (with Lindsay Duncan, Michael Gambon and Matthew McFadyen).

I never thought Red Skelton was a handsome man... actually, none of those men except for Whitaker strike me as handsome men.

Yeah, the website I posted discusses Redford's red hair. There was also discussion as to whether Danny Kaye had red hair or not. I always thought he was cute--not sure how much that had to do with his onscreen personas.
