Star Trek would rank among shows returning after a long hiatus, too, of course, but it is certainly an unusual thing for television. I just hope it is funny (early reports, surprisingly, are good).

Well, I think the more relevant detail is that Red Dwarf is reassembling with pretty much the same cast after all this time. Neither Trek nor Who can boast that for their series'

Well, except for the cast of the original series reassembling for a big screen movie released on December 7, 1979 after first appearing together (well, except for Walter Koenig) in "The Man Trap" which aired on September 8, 1966 on NBC.

Thirteen years versus twenty-five, though, is quite a difference.

Yes, but in Star Trek's case they last assembled for 1991's TUC. A span of 25 years.

As RD has been on and off, and on and off and on and off and on again production since it first came out.

It may or may not be unprecedented but regardless it's impressive.

All of us on this side of the pond though have to wait for the DVD/Blu-ray to see it legally. :(

I guess I'll be staying away from this thread then. ;)

I've told my brother thrice that season 9 exists in the last year when he's been bitching about how there's nothing good on the box any more. Yet he doesn't completely believe me.

Pingfah sent me the first half of Total Recall 2070 which looks as though it was made in the 80s and if you think of it that way, is very entertaining.

Just awful.

Best movie I've seen in the last couple months has been "Butter".

If i go to sleep.

Because it's past my bedtime.

I used to love Crime Traveller, where did you dredge that memory from? Chloe Annette was in it around the time she started in Red Dwarf.

Anyway, really looking forward to series 10 tonight. It always used to be on a Thursday didn't it on BBC2, at 9pm? I think whatever happens it'll just be fun to have the old gang back again.

No, I actually watched it. The acting is much better than i remembered, but the cheesy cheap video editing is painful. I have a vast illegal collection of media that I still primarily have to thank megaupload for, god rest it's soul.

Well I woke up.

Been asleep for hours.

WHERE THE FUCK IS MY RED DWARF!!!???
