I'm looking forward to Midnight's Edge telling everyone how this actually spells doom for CBS.

They will harp on the "no specific numbers released" and that becausd so few people watched DSC it doesn't take much to get a percentage increase... but numbers still are well below what cbs and netflix wants and netflix wants out and CBS wants to cancel it and replace it with another show..blah blah blah...

Don't forget that Netflix is apparently wants out because they're unhappy that DISCOVERY doesn't look like TOS.

Well that's good news. I wonder if they've done work on the back end? Because when I watched "Brother" last week, my image quality was excellent, and stayed in HD the entire time. Last year I had nothing but trouble from the app, and even the website, as it was notorious for crashing, dropping into substandard quality at random times (even with a 200Mbps connection), and just being an all around nuisance.

That's why I subscribed via Amazon Prime starting with the second half of the first season. Good to know that the actual CBS-AA app has improved.

Yeah, they've definitely improved the CBSAA service since last year. However, I still watch it as an Amazon Add-On channel, since that has the best quality in the US. I subscribe both ways since I share the CBSAA account with people who are too cheap to pay :)

Do you have to sign up twice to use the Amazon Prime CBSAA channel? I have Prime, and I have CBSAA. Can I merge them?

I would imagine you'd have to cancel All-Access, then sign up through Amazon.

No, they're separate unfortunately. Best option is to cancel CBSAA and then add the channel through Prime. It's the same price.

I do wish people would leave each show out of the other's discussion.

As for this topic, it's great news.

I wish that would happen with the Marvel and DC discussions as well.

It's the same reason why our political party system is largely dominated by two. People just love to treat these things as a sport where it's two teams going at it.

Excellent news. Hopefully that bodes well for expanding the franchise.

I don't mind compare and contrast discussions, but lately-- specifically relating to Orville/Discovery-- it seems like the only time they're brought up is by someone trashing one and praising the other.

Again, a thoughtful comparison debating what each does better is a fine topic of discussion.

Netflix does not release those numbers, nor is there any incentive for them to announce how well Discovery is doing. This report was CBS releasing info to make investors happy.

I agree. I enjoy both shows for different reasons. There is really no need to pit the two shows against each other
