I'm looking forward to Midnight's Edge telling everyone how this actually spells doom for CBS.

To get some perspective on All Access in relation to the myriad of choices for streaming services, there’s a new report from TiVo, who publishes a quarterly Video Trends Report based on surveys done by a leading third-party survey service. The study for the fourth quarter of 2018 – released today – shows that CBS All Access is being used in 5.2% of the 69.3% of households that use a monthly streaming service. Of course, this ranks All Access well below giants like Netflix and Amazon, but not that far behind HBO Now and ahead of other niche services like Showtime (also owned by CBS) and Starz.

They will harp on the "no specific numbers released" and that becausd so few people watched DSC it doesn't take much to get a percentage increase... but numbers still are well below what cbs and netflix wants and netflix wants out and CBS wants to cancel it and replace it with another show..blah blah blah...
Well that's good news. I wonder if they've done work on the back end? Because when I watched "Brother" last week, my image quality was excellent, and stayed in HD the entire time. Last year I had nothing but trouble from the app, and even the website, as it was notorious for crashing, dropping into substandard quality at random times (even with a 200Mbps connection), and just being an all around nuisance.First, I know they're aren't any actual subscriber numbers so it's hard to know exactly what it means, but it's still a very positive story for CAA. What this does go to show is that people will pay for Star Trek and it's not a bad business decision to try to have new Star Trek content on as much as possible. Second, some of this is due to football, but no data on how much.

Do you have to sign up twice to use the Amazon Prime CBSAA channel? I have Prime, and I have CBSAA. Can I merge them?

Oh please, he was making a joke. you're the one who came into a ST: D thread touting: "The Orville is still a better show..."; and you're entitled to your opinion; but yeah, you're the one who actually brought it up directly in conversation here.
I wish that would happen with the Marvel and DC discussions as well.I do wish people would leave each show out of the other's discussion.
As for this topic, it's great news.

It's the same reason why our political party system is largely dominated by two. People just love to treat these things as a sport where it's two teams going at it.
What about Netflix subscriptions?
I agree. I enjoy both shows for different reasons. There is really no need to pit the two shows against each otherI don't mind compare and contrast discussions, but lately-- specifically relating to Orville/Discovery-- it seems like the only time they're brought up is by someone trashing one and praising the other.
Again, a thoughtful comparison debating what each does better is a fine topic of discussion.
