Recommendations for a good blu-ray player?

The PS3 can also connect with Windows Media Player... which is infinitely better than iTunes, I think. I like Apple, but geez iTunes is the worst media player ever.

Hmm. I use iTunes every day and I think it's the *best* media player I've ever used. YMMV, I suppose. (And I definitely prefer not to have anything to do with any program *or* file format ever created by Microsoft.)

Been looking at the PS3 or the Samsung BP3600 which has some good reviews, very good image quality, DLNA, wireless and GigE.

Price wise they're the same $CA299 but with the PS3 I've then gotta fork out $24 for the Blu-Ray remote (and as I'm in Ontario there's 13% worth of taxes to be added) plus getting an HDMI cable (will buy seperately at the cheapest I can find).

When you get your HDMI cable, get it here:

I own four of them, paid less than $2.00 before shipping.
They work flawlessly.

Yeah, don't get those overpriced pieces of shite that cost like a hundred bucks each. There's no reason HDMI cables have to be that expensive.

Think I'll order them from Amazon.ca - bit more but then by the time those facists at Customs Canada are through you've paid almost as much so I'll keep it simple.

Exactly. If you've paid more than $10 total for a cable that's 6 ft., you've been ripped off.
