Another one that came to mind: Doc Martin. Comedy/Drama. I don't think anybody dies or gets shot at. It's fairly whimsical and the comedy mostly comes from Martin being uncomfortably thrust into situations around town.
That's true, but it was left a bit ambigious to what really happened.
There was an occasional death on the show, but certainly not in every episode, as the cases were more about forgeries and art thefts and fun undercover work, getting into different kind of roles. A clever show, outsmarting the bad guys and of course winning in the end (mostly). And I loved especially whenever Neal would do art himself, be it painting or sculpting.
Neal Caffrey was a very classy man in every way. And Matt Bomer is a very fine actor. I hope one day someone gives him something properly to do.
