Reasons Why No One Came To Earth For 10,000 years.

just rewatched Demons-3x08.avi and Daniel says how the people on that planet must have been moved thru the southern gate.. v recently.. ie in the last 1000 years or so.. so why didnt Sokar go and take over earth then rather then just taking a few people..

Well technically Ra was still alive around about that time and Earth was probably classed as still in his territory. Perhaps Socar sent out some scouts to steal some slaves from some of Ra's worlds, they came across Earth and some other worlds and just shipped a load of people to some of Socars worlds pissing Ra off causing him to retaliate making Socar decide not to try it again.

Anything is possible!

see that is nice... positive discussion

Sokars expedition to Earth could have been purely accidental, the Jaffa may have dialed at random and arrived to gather slaves and either ventured miles to a village or came across pilgrims venturing across the arctic.
In Serpents Song (season 2) Daniel Jackson says the Goauld Sokar once ruled the Earth, it's possible, the Goauld may have merely banished those they overthrown rather then enslave or execute them.

It's also possible that Daniel simply guessed wrong about the use of the antarctic gate. That was fairly early in the show, so they might've still been underestimating the ubiquity of ships in the goa'uld empire.

I suspect the Goa'uld were about to return in the early 1970s, but disco scared them away.

I think they landed in a ship and all they found were these little renaissance fair reject villages where everyone wore these cheap threadbare outfits. In addition to the lameness of the villages, every place on the planet looked like the woods somewhere near Vancouver. The alien types got bored and left.
