Can you think of a movie, that when it came out, it actually affected reality in some way.
For example; Jaws. I remember when Jaws came out. I lived, still live, in San Diego. And when that movie came out, that entire summer, people were affraid to go swimming. In fact, I haven't been in the ocean above my ankles SINCE that movie came out; and I'm serious.
I also remember when Close Encounters came out, there was a rush of UFO sightings, more than usual, for the immediate months after it came out.
JFK, when it came out, really generated a 'rash' of JFK documentaries and speculation about his death. It was watercooler talk for quite some time.
What abouit you? Can you think of a movie that afflicted reality in such ways? I mean, hukkuna-matatta became everyone's catch phrase for Christ's sake!!
