Real life logos that resemble the Starfleet delta

Galactic Alignment

I'm sure there are more than a few, whether the resemblance is intentional or not!

First one I can think of is the logo of the European Left party (a small political grouping in the European parliament)...

Also, a local secondary (high) school has this logo on their blazers, which has always looked very Starfleet to me...

Any more out there?

I always thought this Lego emblem reminded me of Starfleet's delta in a way:

One of the music awards here in the states used the Delta as it's emblem this year. I'm pretty sure it was one of the country music ones, I'm just not sure which one.

It was the CMA Awards:

And appropriately given Roddenberry's beliefs, the Humanist logo is sort of like an inverted Starfleet logo in the shape of a Human (on the top at least):

With most of the Space Agencies already using some form of the Delta I guess if we ever get a chance to produce our own version of Starfleet then it looks like we'll be using what's already there. Neat

So the New York City Subway and Billy Strayhorn were ripping off Trek more than 25 years before it went on the air?

Is there a reason why this delta is such a common logo?

The arrowhead aiming for the stars is a universal symbol for aerospace. It looks like a plane or a spacecraft, it indicates a course heading, it looks like three of the five points of a star, etc. It's easy for people of all languages and educational levels to understand and simply signifies the goals of your mission or agency.

The original logo for the Coast Guard's "Deepwater" program was similar to a canted TNG communicator.

(I couldn't find a graphic of it since it was used back in the first phase of the program and the logo was subsequently changed following contract award.)

Still, the similarity was VERY noticeable... Basically, take a communicator pin and turn/rotate it about 45 degrees.

Cheers,
