Did they ever mention on TNG that Picard was captain of the Stargazer for 22yrs?
I'm in the final (?) battle scene now ( I don't think that's a spoiler...) and while it wasn't what I was expecting, it's certainly been an interesting read. The early cameos of some of the later Enterprise crew are actually pretty good and don't feel hamfisted.
I've always thought those cameos made a lot of sense. Picard is the type to be more impressed by the actions someone takes rather than words on a person's record. So he sees them in action here and when he's assembling his own crew, he requests them because he has a good idea of what they're capable of.
The Buried Age is the book that brought me back to Trek Lit after I had given up on Trek books in the late 90's. I bought TBA on a whim and couldn't believe how good it was. Not only did TBA get me reading Trek again but it also made me want to rewatch TNG.
Maybe i missed it in this book or in another book but around what year did they ditch the red tunic unis for the one piece uniform?
