Re-shooting the lost episodes...

I enjoyed both the animation and the Tele-snap reconstruction of The Tenth Planet episode 4, and hope that there is a Tele-snap reconstruction of Power of the Daleks made available as well.

I only hope it'll be presented in 4:3. B&W too, but I can live with the blue-ish tint easier than a retroactive widescreen presentation.

There is the Loose Cannon one online. Do you mean something more official?

I was thinking of something more more official as I didn't know there was an unofficial version out there.

ETA-- but thanks for the info!

I wonder if they'll be doing this in Canada. It's possible, Canadian theatres did get the supposedly US-exclusive 3-D Dark Water/Death in Heaven in theatres. I don't usually go in for these TV shows on the theatre screen, not even for Day of the Doctor, but I might make an exception in this case.

Tickets are on sale now and the above link has the full list of showings, which is pretty long! I'm looking to see if I can watch it in Raleigh.

Saw ads during Dirk Gently for POTD, coming to BBC America on Nov 19. Sounds like they're going to show it as a series.

Yeah, I assume it means they'll show an episode per week. But it'd be great if they meant they're going to do a whole series reanimating all the missing serials...

It's odd that the airtime is 8:25 PM. Maybe it's running 35 minutes so they can air it uncut with commercials.

DVD details for Power of the Daleks. Among other things, extras will include all surviving footage and a tele-snap re-creation.

That's really cool. After Web of Fear and Enemy of the World had absolutely no special features, I was wondering if they had just given up on them. This was a really cool project just by itself, having special features on the DVD makes it even better.

Sweet. Lots of great extras. I assume the release date only refers to the UK and we don't have a date for the US yet.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if this didn't get a North American release until the spring, following the precedents set by The Underwater Menace DVD as well as the DVDs of Enemy of the World and Web of Fear a few years ago.

I'm more concerned that this will be presented in widescreen. I'd really rather they went for 4:3 spec. At least the color version will be a nice extra, so I'm not that distrought about it.

Is someone going to start a review thread for Power of the Daleks, or are we just going to discuss it here?

I thought about starting a review thread, but I'm not going to be able to see it till it airs in the USA.
